A typeface based on PC Music aesthetics
This typeface was created inspired by PC Music, specifically by the song “VYZEE” composed by Sophie.
PC Music is a music genre full of synthesizers that transports the listener to a sugary and artificial atmosphere.
SOPHIE’s aesthetic, as with all PC Music artists, borrows elements of consumer culture and takes them to the next level, resulting in images that look totally computer-generated and plasticky textures so “clean” that seem ridiculously unreal.
As Byung-Chul Han states in “La salvación de lo bello”, the polished, the smooth and the flawless are trademarks of our time. That is why I decided to carry out this typographical exercise using make-up and acrylic paint, both materials that convey a plasticised and artificial atmosphere.
